Today I went for a walk with Taj. The sun was out and shining through the clouds. I like it when the rays stand out like that, I am sure it has a proper name for it, but I can’t think of it now.

While Taj was sniffing in the long grass and discovering hiden flocks of little brown birds, making them fluttered and tweek as they flew out of his grasp. After which he quickly became jealous of whatever I was trying to photograph, so he had to investigate (these little flowers are in the photo below, just to the right of his right ear).

Then we were off again, and saw that there was a whole in the sky, wonder how it got there. Or perhaps the sky is blowing smoke-rings just to amuse itself.

Our neighbour’s hibiscus in the late afternoon light, and the sign below, were both pointing us back home.

So, off we went, home again.

They aren’t quite in my clothing yet, but they have invaded the house to get away from all the rain and water outside. Nothing seems to deter them, and they’re wildly running around and bumping into each other. I’m am not sure they know where they are. Hopefully they will go back to their homes soon. Oh, that reminds me, I must show you these killer deadly ants that live in our letterbox. Remind me if I forget, because, boy, if they bite you, you certainly won’t be forgetting the pain in a hurry. Plus, they’re just massive.
Thank you again for all the positive comments about my last photo. And an extra thank you to my great mate Gamma for reprising his ‘Photo of the Week’ blog post, in special honour of my emerging photographic ability.
I became all stage frighty after doing so well with that last shot and didn’t know what to photograph next. Luckily, yesterday I suddenly had new subject matter. Well, you see the rain came back again and we lost electricity, water, and phone lines for all the day and night. It’s been a bad year for that happening, not sure why, but any rain seems to knock us right off the grid.
Anyway, the loss of something as ubiquitous as power, really makes you realise how important it is, and how slowly times flies when it is only pro-pulsed by battery power. A very quiet night was in store for us. I thankfully dived straight into a good book, and preceded to really burn my finger when a match strangely made a complete circle after being struck against the side of the matchbox.
While we stayed still all night and waited, our neighbourhood was a hive of activity. Trucks and men worked furiously, to locate the source of the problem, which illuded them for hours and hours. It was such a good thing they managed to find the problem late last night because some local roads had disappeared under a lot of water today.
Here is a photo of the first truck which arrived yesterday afternoon and was very busy driving and reversing in, and around, everyone’s driveway.
