I know, I know, frogs again. But, it was what we saw this evening. And I’ve tried to mix it up a little for you, with the sepa business.

Sunset tonight took the form of a ‘v’, with pink colouring on one side in particular. It was really quite pretty, and a bit different.
Another Uni project for you to see. Here I had to create greyscales with thread and different materials.
Being able to create a greyscale, from deep black through to pure white using a pencil or piece of charcoal, is a basic drawing technique that is necessary because it develops control over your drawing implement and an appreciation for tonal variation.
Care of this website : here is a graphics generated greyscale and my own attempts below.

We were encouraged to use a variety of threads, stitches and materials. In order from top to bottom I employed satin stitch, weaving, variation blanket stitch couching, spider webs, and buttonhole stitches. And the bases are: onion bag, dish cloth, ribbon, paper bag and embroidery fabric.

He’s there, if you look closely.
I really like this image. It’s a cracker of an angle. And despite appearances, I can assure you that no one was hurt and the dog was not being vicious.
It’s just The ‘Dozer and my dog Taj, getting up to their usual tricks. I tell them they shouldn’t play fight. I tell The ‘Dozer it goes against all dog ownership rules. But, they carry on no matter what I say. Plus, their antics are just like capoiera, where it looks like their making contact, but really, they’re just dancing around each other in stylised, choreographed moves.
So, what can I do with them, and when all they really want to do is to show off a little, be boys, and hope I’ll notice them.

It’s not exactly what I should be doing for Uni, but who could really blame me?

We just had a big blackout here. It isn’t surprising, as we’ve had some monster-hot days and everyone in the district will be feeling it, and putting on an extra fan or two, to try and beat the heat. Which overloads the power grid.
Thankfully we’re fairly prepared for it, and so we have candles scattered at strategic places around the house.
Doubly thankfully, we could still play Scrabble by the candlelight. I was being thrashed, right up until the last few moves where my good letters came in mighty handy. I didn’t win though, it was a draw. But, that’s the best result anyway – we can be winners, together.
