Do you remember in late August when I discussed making The ‘Dozer a birthday hat? If so, you may recall  I posted this image of the creation in it’s earliest form.

Dozers hat, before..

Dozer's hat, before..

Soon after, I also mentioned I would post pictures of the finished results.
I meant to do that, of course. I even took photos of The ‘Dozer on his birthday morn, wearing his new present. But I had hoped to have him wear it outdoors on another sunny day, so we could take some pretty pictures for the blog.
Alas, we never got around to it. Oh dear, no blog post then….
So, you can see why it is a good thing Kate isn’t a slow-coach like we are. She has recently recieved a hat from me, and has posted a cute photo for you to see.

If you’ll just pop over to her blog, you’ll find Kate in all her impish glory – looking like she could pull a swifty on you without you ever suspecting a thing.

And, Kate’s lovely ethusiasm for my gift, has inspired me to rethink The ‘Dozer’s bithday photos. And to see if I had enough to post with, as I always wanted to show you all the wild creation I ended up making for him.
I used a little bit of artistic license with them, and… ta-dah! Here they are, for your viewing pleasure.first-batch-from-old-puter-208-2

And don’t forget the original Bertster looking adorably uncomfortable in English Mum’s creation. (I love those pictures of him)
Or Moon’s hat…. because it was for a manly man, I added a little extra height to it. Of course, that meant it turned out looking like a Viking helmet. But sure, that just makes it all the more special. (I did make it for you Moon. It’s still on the launching pad, waiting to fly off to you)

English Mum, ever the trendsetter, recently added the prettiest looking falling snowflakes to her website. Which is so timely because we’ve just had a welcome dose of snow here too…well, it was really hail. But it was almost as fun as snow. And it will be the closest thing to snow at Christmas-time, that we can hope to see.

Taj, posing for you all. The umbrella is attached to the central pole,

The wind from the storm the night before, toppled the poor central pole of my greenhouse. Interestingly, the weather people on the TV explained that it is the heat from our very hot days that energises and drives the storms.

I was busy taking these photos, when all of a sudden The ‘Dozer came up behind me, (scaring me to bits) so he could show me these. He’d rushed out into the storm, especially for me to see.

Aren’t they beauties!

There he is, out there getting me some more – that is until bolt of lightening cracked down, right near him, and I called out that he should take cover.

Here is one of the hailstones that The ‘Dozer brought back in. It isn’t the clearest shot, but don’t you think it looks like an eye agate, often used in jewellery. I was thinking about these hail-stones – I wonder how far the water crystals had travelled before landing on our garden.  Maybe they’ve come all the way from you.first-batch-from-old-puter-683

Me, asking The ‘Dozer: “What was that ‘Bucket’ film called – the one about the race horse?”

“Seabiscuit?”

I saw this little frog when I went to check on my new seedlings, in my veggie garden yesterday evening. Do you have frogs like this one? Because I’ve seen green and yellow frogs, brown with gold, but I haven’t seen a  metallic silvery coloured one like this before.sliver-frog
