Just like Cupid himself, English Mum shot an arrow over the ocean, piercing my tender self conscious-ness and prodding me in action with her latest meme.
Via English Mum the meme follows as such:
“Here’s my question to you, if you had to select celebrities/actors to play the parts in the story of your life today (including yourself!), who would it be and why – this can be based on looks or personality!”
We’re just a small family here: myself, my Mum, and brother (and my dog Taj). But it was fun to talk with them and figure out who captures an aspect of our personality and looks.
My Mum is definitively M from Casino Royale; only with a more cheerful and cheeky expression.
M , played by the distinguished actress Judy Dench, is the ” head of the Foreign Intelligence wing of Her Majesty’s Secret Service… one of the world’s strongest intelligence and counterterrorist forces.” Beneath both M and my Mother’s unassuming exterior lurks a keen mind and quiet firm authority. Mum could easily be the boss of a dozen 007’s, and they’d probably give her a lot less trouble than my brother and I (especially because she spoils us, so).
My brother ‘The Dozer’ is absolutely Matthew McConaughey from Sahara (though not all Southern drawl and continually flashing his man-boobs, although if you ask nicely he’ll probably flex them for you).
‘The Dozer’ is definitely the one to hatch hair-raising schemes to uncover buried treasure, and would know just how to stealthily rescue you from the clutches of imminent peril. He’s an action adventure man. Just look at this photo blow, it could be ‘The Dozer’ himself, and I’d not want to be getting in his way…
Ok so, it only took me a moment or two to find the right actor for my family. But I couldn’t think of anyone to play myself. So I enlisted my family’s help and the result was certainly unexpected.
‘The Dozer’ thought Nicole Kidman is like me, particularly in the sense that “no matter how many clothes they fling on her, there’s something smouldering underneath that shines through… a hidden dimension to her…”
Note: I’ve dark hair and specs. etc. but I do like this photo.
And my Mum thinks of Katherine Hepburn and Bette Davis when she thinks of me because they were such capable actresses: so convincing in their various roles; and both she and my brother always think I’m capable of anything.
I’m surprised that those closest to me would chose such strong personalities to represent me. I thought I was a much softer and clumsy person… more like Amelie or Ginger Rogers – someone who’s good intentions and bumbling ways, often cause her plans to unravel.
Please do feel free to take up English Mum’s challenge and let us know who’d represent you and those around you. The rules are over at iRamble and while you’re on the go, have a squiz English Mum’s excellent answers.

Oooh, Nicole Kidman eh? Well, you could do a lot worse. Funny how other people see us so differently, isn’t it? I wonder if your Mum sees herself as an ‘M’ type? Did you ask her?
Taj looks beautiful in his golden glow!

Thank you Kate, so kind of you to stop by, and thanks for the lovely comment about my Mum, she is pretty special. Great meme, I really enjoed it!
Ha ha ha!!! Thanks English Mum, and you know you’re always welcome here. The Dozer is loving the attention, it fuels his campaign to come over to Ireland with me when I visit. He really likes the Irish (and English of course, you’re all so friendly!) too.
Thanks Jay ! I was really surprised by how different my perception was to my family’s. And vice-a-versa. My Mum is surprised too. She said she didn’t think she was like anyone – which just proves what a good spy she’d be – adaptable to all situations. No, more seriously, I think she’s just is always surprised when we kids tell her that she’s so cool.
